Meet the Emerging Art Stars This Friday

This Friday, LAC is celebrating the work of talented students and recent alumni from Randolph College, Sweet Briar College, and the University of Lynchburg: Allie Allen, Sydney Harris, Andrew Hill, Aszter Hitchcock, Melinda Hollie, Skyler Kuyk, Sita Moses, Romeo Navarro, Leah Partington, Katelyn Rebert, and Jonathan Suarez.

And we're excited to share that these emerging artists will be joined by supporting faculty from all three colleges — Kasey Forehand, Brooke Marcy, Shawn O'Connor, Daniel Shipley, and Allen TenBusschen — whose work will be on view alongside their students', offering a look at the mentors helping shape the region's next generation of artists.

Join us for the First Friday Artist Reception on September 4th, 5:00–7:30 PM, with light hors d'oeuvres and refreshments and a chance to meet many of the exhibiting artists.

Lynchburg Art Club and Gallery, 1011 Rivermont Ave
On view September 4–27 | Gallery Hours: Thu–Fri 1–5 PM, Sat–Sun 1:30–4 PM

More Information

Registration for the 53rd Annual Lynchburg Art Festival (September 19, E.C. Glass High School) has closed, and we're thrilled to welcome over 100 exhibiting fine artists this year — including many exciting new additions!

We're trying something new for 2026: an Emerging Artist Section, designed to encourage artists who haven't shown in this type of event before to give it a try in a smaller footprint — fence space and shared tents.

Make sure to mark your calendars and invite your friends! The countdown is on!

Follow the Lynchburg Art Festival's Facebook Page to see the work of exhibiting artists!

Support LAC without the time commitment

Love LAC but your schedule's already full? The Enrichment Tier is for you.

For $200 a year, Enrichment membership gives you full LAC membership with zero volunteer hours required. Just your support, going straight to the things that keep this 130-year-old organization running.

Right now, that means:

• Building repairs — our air conditioner just went out, and dues like these cover fixes like this
• New gallery lighting so the work on view looks the way it should
• Studio wall repairs and lighting for the members using the space to create
• Care and maintenance of our permanent collection
• New programming and workshops for the community

No shifts. No sign-up sheets. Just your name on the list of people keeping LAC standing.
